For any who are confused about the fact that even though it is a 512 MB Memory Stick, but it says that it only has 470 MBish, that's because of the way companies use the term, "megabyte". The company making the stick considers a megabyte to be 1000 kilobytes, which are each 1000 bytes, so a megabyte is 1,000,000 megabytes. Thus, the capacity of the stick is 520,000,000 MBs. However, the PSP, and all other devices, consider 1MB=1024KB=1048576 bytes. So the 520,000,000 byte capacity of the stick is considered by the PSP to be just under 596 MBs. The rest of the space taken up is by stuff needed to make it work, but it's not ALL that, just "formatting". (Yes, the companies rip you off, deal with it)

Cabela's African Safari Review

I bought this game on a whim, but don't regret my decision one bit. The only con to this game is somewhat long load times. The pros are many. Graphics are simply gorgeous and much more realistic than one may expect. The sound effects are right on the money, from the sounds of your steps in the water to the boom of your shotgun.
There are several types of guns in the game: pistols, shotguns, rifles and crossbows. Different calibers are available and picking the right one for your prey is part of the game. As your progress through the game custom versions of firearms become available. If you don't know anything about guns don't worry, your porter will advise you on the best selection. The game offers several modes: a safari adventure - which basically a story mode, open season where you pick a hunt you have been on before, a tournament where you hunts birds with a shotgun- this mode also has a hot seat mode, instant hunt, and dangerous seven where as you unlock them you hunt the most dangerous animals around - may it be rhino lion or a crocodile.
There are plenty of animals to hunt on in this game, from ducks, and geese to all kinds of antelopes, big cats and rhinos. The hunts very: from tracking animal on foot, riding on a jeep, or an a using a boat to get at some fowl.
I would not recommend this game to a young player given the subject, but will wholeheartedly recommend it to any one else 4.5/5

Your expensive handheld gaming device is not cheap, so what can you do to protect it? CM4 has released their Catalyst line of covers for Wii remotes, the Nintendo DS, DSi, DSi XL, & Sony's PSPgo. The covers are fabric-wrapped aluminum and allow full functionality of the device when installed.

We tested out the Slim Cover for the PSPgo and found it to be very versatile, and it protects the PSP better than other alternatives on the market.

Inside the package you'll find both halves of the cover, a screen protector, and directions on how to install it. The directions probably wont be needed as it is simple and easy to install.

Other covers we've tried for our PSPgo were silicone with no re-enforcement, and didn't seem to offer much more than aesthetic protection. CM4s cover is wrapped aluminum and gives you a better overall sense of security. You still shouldn't drop your PSPgo, but if you did, this cover would at least minimize any external damage (as long as it doesn't fall too far).

The cover fits snugly into place on both sides of the PSPgo and allows for the it to slide open and closed without any problems. There are holes for both the bluetooth light, the wi-fi light, and the PS Button also has a hole opened for it as well and is easily accessed with the cover installed.

For those of you that use the PSPgo Cradle, the cover is installed without covering the lanyard hole and the cover can be removed without taking the lanyard off.

The back part of the cover will have to be removed for use in the cradle, but that only takes a few seconds.

The overall quality and design of the Catalyst Slim PSPgo cover sets a new standard for handheld protection, while keeping the sexy and sleek design that is the PSPgo. Other covers may protect just as well, but wont look as good. Other covers may look as good, but won't protect as well. While we haven't tested the other products in the Catalyst line, it would be safe to say that they should protect your other devices just as well. Quality in one design should equal quality across the board.

If you own a PSPgo, or know someone who does, order one of these today. While the $[...] price is comparable to other covers, the quality goes beyond the others.

I love this game. I have it for the Nintendo DS also!!
That's how much I love this game!
And I can not even begin to emphasize how amazing the graphics for this game look on the PSP...
This is a wonderful, non fresh, entertaining, somewhat like a puzzle game.
( Sometimes it's hard to find a decent game that is suitable to play around kids )
AND!! There's all sorts of secrets for you to unlock!!
( yeah, I am that geeky girl that gets all squeely when she beats a level on her own or unlocks a secret!! You should try it!! And if you're not a female.. you should let your GF or Sister try it!!)
This game is not only beautiful, it's a very decent game for all ages that can read and comprehend instructions!
( wouldn't suggest it for people under the age of say.. 9/10 )

LittleBigPlanet Review

I am not a huge gamer when it comes to video games. I have my favorites to be sure, but it's a small group. I have had other handheld gaming systems and while I enjoyed them I grew tired of them because they were so limited and boring. The graphics weren't great, but then what could I expect? But now I have a reason to have another handheld gaming system... LITTLE BIG PLANET. My DIL introduced me to the game when I was visiting them in March. I'd never heard of it till then. Yes, I know not exactly cutting edge, am I? However, I was intrigued by the little Sackperson and the world they traveled in and when I got home from my trip (wish I'd had it on the trip for the many hours of flying I did) I bought it. I just love it. It may not be for everyone's tastes, but it is exactly the kind of game I like and it's so different from games I've played in the past and I love Stephen Fry's narration. I'm sure people watching me must wonder what I am giggling about. He is a hoot!

Where would LittleBigPlanet be without a Create mode? Missing one of its key ingredients, and tasting slightly odd, that’s for sure. LittleBigPlanet PSP allows you to create just about anything your imagination can muster: Stick some cardboard together with some pistons to make your own race of scary machines, glue a rocket to a block and some wheels and jet up a ramp into space, and recreate your favorite restaurant from pieces of sponge. Gameplay

Let me start off by saying that I've played this game (well - o.k. - not EXACTLY this game) on the Xbox, and I enjoy that one a lot (I've got over Million dollars and over 30 cars, including 10 prototype Dodge Vipers that I've won in pink slip races) - and that was the main reason for trying out this game.

Let me also say that I'm not a huge fan of racing style games - in fact, Juiced is really the only one I've played. Other racing games might be better, more realistic, whatever - I really don't know. I can't compare this game to other racing games - so I won't bother.

Largely, this game is pretty much the same as the Xbox version. Granted, the names of the other crew leaders are different, as are their crews and their "turfs". But, as you're racing, you'll recognize sections of the various tracks from the first (Xbox) game.

The game operates pretty much the same as the first one, you start racing, you have to build up respect from various crew leaders to attend their races, then race them for pinks, them host at their tracks, etc. Also, different crew leaders are impressed by different things, one by your betting, one by your crews abilities, one by your sprints, one by your circuit racing, etc. Do poorly in a race (or even if you don't come in first) and you'll see your respect go down.

I've been playing the game for about a week, and I've seen all of the crew leaders except for one (the last guy who would be similar to Carlos in the first one). It seems to me that the Crew Leaders aren't as dorky as they were in the first one, and sometimes they're actually kind of funny (one guy, Hayden, asks you to drop him off at his girlfriends house after he lost a pink slip race to you - then he says "maybe I better not since I lost my car" - yeah, it's not exactly ROFLMAO, but it's humorious). So far, there's nobody annoying as Jack was in the first one (he's the blond haired whinner).

Some reviewers (for magazines) have complained that it's more difficult to race on the PSP and that the control offered by the analog stick isn't as good as on the Xbox. That might be true, however, I wouldn't be a good judge of that. I tend to stick to sprints and circuit races on oval tracks because I can't corner worth a crap. In the Xbox, I kept on putting the car into the guard rails while cornering - at lower classes, I haven't been having that much of a problem cornering on the PSP version - but I still prefer sprints and racing on ovals.

The layout of the game (the menus, etc.) are a little different in Eliminator - I'm assuming this is because of the smaller screen real estate. They're using a side-to-side screens for going through your cars, and the cars at the dealership. It's frustrating because it's a lot slower when you're in the workshop - you have to load the picture of each car before you can scroll to the next one. When you're in the dealership, at least you can scroll through the names quicker, though every so often (about 10 or so cars) it stops, and loads the picture of the car before you can keep scrolling.

Another different thing about the game is the betting. In the first one there were several different amounts you could bet (usually 4 or 5), but as you keep on beating them, those bet amounts keep going down. Also, you could purposely bet higher than the persons "comfort range" and gain respect (not a lot - b ut some).

These features are different in Eliminator. As far as I can tell, bet amounts don't go down in Eliminator as you keep beating the driver. Also, you are offered 3 different betting amounts - that's it. However, you can scroll between the different drivers and see what their bet amounts are before you actually bet - so you can get the highest bet amount (if that's what you want to do). But you can't purposely "overbet" somebody and get a respect increase. Though I've only done it once, I think that it's easier to not bet on the race in Eliminator than it was in the first one. That way if you're just racing to unlock mods, and don't think you're going to win (you have no turbo or nitro), you don't have to worry about losing a bet as well.

Another big change is that you don't see the respect screen unless you select it. Respect, and the respect screen does seem to operate pretty much the same.

Also, you don't have to pay to fix up your car after each race - which is nice. Even if you won, and didn't hit anybody, or put the car into the wall, you still had to pay to fix your car. Not so in Eliminator. Also, a "clean racing" bonus is offered, though I haven't figured out yet if it's for not hitting anybody, or not putting it into the wall.

Another change, that I don't believe was possible in the first game, is that you can level up a car (a little bit) after you buy it, but you haven't actually raced it yet. Granted, you can't get turbo or nitro until you've raced at least once - but you can level up a little, and add some mods to your car. Once you start racing, you unlock mods, and can trick out your car more, making it better,

The mod system works pretty much the same as in the first game. On the engine mods, there's stock, levels and prototype, on the body mods, there's usually three levels, except for the tail, which seems to have more.

That said, I do have two big complaints about the Juiced:Eliminator. First, the load times are awful - everytime you goto a different section, it takes a while to load. Second, and to me, this is a big one, when a crew member is racing for you, you have to pick the level they're going to race at (high, medium or low) at the begining of the race, and you don't get to change it real-time like you could in the first game. This, in my opinion, makes it a lot more difficult for your crew members to win races (though not impossible). In the first version, I would place my crew members at high at the begining of the race, and as they started having trouble (their name, position and level would change from yellow to orange to red), you could switch them down to medium until their color went back down to yellow. Also, you could put them on medium (or even low) when they were cornering (when they're more likely to spin out at the high level), and then put them back on high on straighaways. Also, if they're comfortably winning the race, you could switch them down to medium - and not have to worry (as much) about them loosing control and spinning out.

In Eliminator, you pick the level at the begining of the race, and really, there's nothing else to do until the race is over. You might as well sit the game down and goto the bathroom, get a drink, whatever, until the race is over. That's kind of lame.

Overall though, I do think this is an enjoyable game - and probably worth keeping (I'm renting it through Gamefly). If you enjoyed playing it on the Xbox, and have a PSP - I suggest you get it. If you didn't like it on the Xbox - you won't like it on the PSP.

This is probably my favorite shooter. I love how all the evironments are done by playing a CG video in the backround. And they mixed the in-game graphics and CG very well. That pretty much makes it one of the best-looking shooters I have ever seen. And, of course, the gameplay is very good. It's kinda like panzer dragoon/rez - type shooting where you can aim anywhere in a 360 degree space, which actually goes back to the environments - They somehow made it so you can rotate your view of a CG video! I am impressed.

Having played the PC MMO version since Season 2, I had always wanted to get a version that allowed me to just go through the game without needing anyone to play with. It's been one of the biggest problems with the PC version -- that you can't really go through tournaments or versus mode just by yourself because there is no support for any kind of true single-player mode. If you aren't with your usual group or with friends, the MMO version is harder to jump into and have fun with. Now PSP owners have Fantasy Golf PangYa to satisfy their single player needs, although it's a complete flipside of it's MMO cousin.

The game features nine of PangYa's many courses: the three Winds (Pink Wind, Sepia Wind, and Wind Hill), the three Wizs (West Wiz, White Wiz, and Wiz Wiz), the first two Blue courses (Blue Lagoon and Blue Water), and Dark Inferno. While lacking some of PangYa's most unique and fun courses in the mix, the selections make more sense when you actually play through Story Mode. Also, getting a game with 162 holes is a pretty nice deal, as each course hole presents a nice challenge.

One of the best features, especially for fans of the MMO, is the added player characters. In addition to the players from PangYa Season 3, the caddies from the MMO now get into the game as actual player characters. All new player characters have been added as well, but I won't spoil who they are -- you have to find out for yourself.

With 18 characters and 9 courses, you can tell that there's a lot of gameplay in here already, but mix in the various game modes such as Story Mode and the Tournaments (with their Qualifying Games), and you have a pretty enjoyable and nearly endless amount of gameplay opprotunities. The controls are nicely laid out and work well with the game, especially the trick shot system. After spending some time with the PSP version, the PC MMO's trick shots feel clunky in comparison. Other than that, the game is identical to the MMO version.

Graphically, one of the best features is impressive 2D cut scene artwork that compliments the game very well. To go along with the 2D art is slightly upgraded character models, with Scout being the most notably changed of the groups. The courses look like they were completely lifted out of the MMO version and look identical to their counterparts.

So, with all of this praise, what problems could there be? The biggest problem of them all for a game of this type -- no hotseat gameplay of any kind. This disappointed me greatly, as the only method of multiplay on this version is Ad Hoc mode over networked PSPs with the game loaded. That's it -- no server mode, no passing-around-the-PSP mode, just hosted networking mode. Remember, I mentioned above that this game was the flipside of its MMO cousin, and it's very much true. This game would have been perfect if only it had hotseat gameplay.

Otherwise, this is a must-buy app for your PSP. It's a tried-and-true golf sim unlike any other with a great story mode, lots of characters to unlock and play as, and excellent replay value through Tournament and Match modes.

This is by far the best PSP case I have ever owned. This may be a soft case but my PSPgo fits snuggly inside, the system is not shifting, the screen is not sliding, its a perfect fit. It has a nice amount of padding to protect the system if you should drop it while in the case but, the zipper end is lacking in padding and in my opinion is the weakspot of this case, but even with that being said, I feel confident in putting my PSPgo in this case.

It has a little pocket on the front, you can fit a cleaning cloth (I always carry one because lets face it, the black model is a fingerprint magnet), and a M2 in it. The pocket can't fit much but, the PSPgo doesnt need much since it doesn't have an UMD drive.

I love the double zipper, it's something that cases for older model PSP cases always seemed to lack, and it is wonderful for when your using your headphones while the system is in you pocket, and since my PSP is also my mp3 player, I listen to music alot on it, sometimes more than I play games on it.

The only complaint I have is that I feel the belt loop on the back is a bit unnecessary, but since some people will actually find it useful I wont take away from the score just for that, that and the fact it doesnt take away from the product, its just unecessary in my opinion.

If your looking into buying a reliable carrying case for your PSPgo then you should really think about making this your product of choice, I may not be able to comment on other cases but thats becasue this one has done its job and I havent needed to try another one. Sony did a great job with this case.

Admittedly, I'm not a big PSP gamer, as I only tend to play it when I either have a little free time that's not conducive to my playing on my PS3, or there's a title that comes out that I actively want to play and make time for. Needless to say, neither of these circumstances happens very much. In the latter case, it tends only to be the `GOD OF WAR' titles for the PSP, and in the former case, I tend to spend my money wisely by purchasing titles that have been reviewed well across the board and if possible, are from a series that I tend to play (again, `GOD OF WAR' or `TOMB RAIDER'). It's in this nice little niche that `RESISTANCE : Retribution' falls. Admittedly, I was skeptical at first of how an FPS game would translate to a handheld device that, 1) didn't have all of the controls the six-axis controller did and 2) was also small enough and not ergonomically designed, to the extent that it can cause hand cramping. Regardless of my skepticism though, I picked it up, and I'm largely glad I did. Here's why....

THE GOOD : Beyond the impressive graphics, cool looking enemies, and appropriately challenging levels, the first and most impressive thing that struck me about the game, was how the designers tackled the problem of aiming and looking around with the lack of a second joystick. For both of these functions, the PSP's four main buttons (circle, square, triangle and X) act as the second joystick. While you might tend to think this would be a serious pain in the @$$ (as did I at first), this skepticism diminishes almost immediately upon actually playing the game. This functionality is split into 2 separate but very similar mechanics. When it comes to walking around and looking in directions, the triangle & X buttons are up and down, respectively and the square & circle buttons are left and right, respectively. Since your hand is basically placed above these buttons as it is, it makes it all that much easier to control your character. Where it really becomes impressive (and easy) is the aiming. The PSP does the majority of the aiming for you. As long as you're pointed in the general direction of your attackers, the reticule will automatically draw itself to the hostile and highlight itself red so you know you're `on target'. If you're not, you'll need to use the four main buttons to get yourself pointed in the proper direction, but it's not problematic in the least bit. But don't let this make you think this game is easy or that it'll be a cakewalk. It's not and there are some points that are downright difficult as all get out. However none of this is due to movement or aiming which makes it acceptable when you get stuck in a certain spot for a longer bit of time than you have at other points in the game. In fact, there are other concessions to the PSP platform this game makes to help the player out, without making the game too easy. The other that comes right to mind is the `snap-to' cover system. If you're unfamiliar with this dynamic, it basically means that instead of approaching cover and crouching or making sure you're properly positioned behind it, simply getting close enough to it and in the right direction, will cause your character to automatically position itself in the appropriate defensive posture so as not to get hit by incoming fire, but to allow for retaliatory fire. And speaking of firing, weapon selection is also handled quite well on the PSP for this game. Simply holding the right arrow on the D-pad pauses the action (sometimes a very handy trick if you need to get your bearings or formulate a strategy!) and brings up the weapons selection display. Then by using the four main symbol buttons and the right bumper button, you can select from any weapon in your inventory. All in all, the very best things about `RESISTANCE : Retribution' on the PSP are the innovative and clever concessions to the platform the developers made. However, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that this game also comes with the ability to hook it up to your PS3 and, provided you have `RESISTANCE 2', play the game in `infected' mode, where your character gains regenerative health and a powerful magnum sidearm that shoots explosive rounds. Other capabilities exist for this game such as online play and the ability to connect this to your PS3 and play it with a six-axis controller (if you have the right set of cables) but, admittedly, I didn't mess with this option as I prefer to play a game on the platform it's designed for. Of course, there were also some things I would have preferred. Thus....

THE BAD : For a game that's so mechanically sound, that looks so good and that is appropriately challenging........why can it be (at times)so ......uninspired? That's not to say that the game is a lame duck, it's not worth your time, or that it's outright boring, but other than the mechanics, there's very little new here. Most of the enemy chimera are the same as you've seen in the 2 console games, the story plays out basically the same and the protagonist you play may as well be the one from the console shooters as well. Except, well, he talks a lot more and actually has some smarmy dialogue. Even the ability to gather intel is extrapolated from the console games and feels more stale than fresh. But then again, in games like this, that's become par for course, so I suppose it really shouldn't be a sore spot? But what was new, such as the ability to unlock skill points, felt a little forced, like it existed to take your mind away from the fact you were essentially playing a `bite-sized' version of the console games. Maybe it's just that I didn't play this game in a fairly short timeframe and that it was broken up over a couple of months due to time constraints, but even so, I never felt `compelled' to play this game because I just couldn't put it down. It was more like I just enjoyed it when I could. Then again, maybe I'm looking for a little too much when it comes to PSP games that fall into category 2 from my opening paragraph? Like `GOD OF WAR : Chains Of Olympus', `RESISTANCE : Retribution' is simply a `smaller' version of the console games - no more, no less. It basically transports as much of the full experience of the console games down onto the smaller PSP platform. I guess I shouldn't be looking for much more? Having said that, if that's the approach to be had, there really isn't much about this game.

THE BOTTOM LINE: As I just stated, `RESISTANCE : Retribution' not only successfully imports the RESISTANCE experience down onto the PSP, but makes some very innovative and clever mechanic and playability adjustments in doing so. With some of the additional features it has, such as the `infected mode', it's a very worthwhile and challenging game to play on the PSP. Not just for fans of the series, but also for fans of shooter games in general who are looking for a successful interpretation of the genre to a portable device. Overall this is an exceptionally well done game.

New Story, New Anti-hero
Resistance: Retribution follows the story of former British Marine, James Grayson. A veteran of the struggle against the Chimera in Britain following their conquest of the European continent, he did not escape those battles unwounded. Months prior to his entrance into the game, while leading an attack on a Chimera conversion facility--locations where humans are changed into monstrous slaves serving the Chimera--he was forced to kill his own brother in order to keep him from turning into one of these abominations. Following this Grayson goes on a vendetta to destroy every conversion center he can find, eventually even deserting his unit to fulfill his lust for revenge, a crime which he would be locked up for. Unfortunately, for all his compulsion, success and sacrifice Grayson learns that his efforts have been futile. In Western Europe the Chimera have evolved a new method of converting humans, one about which nearly nothing is known. Aware of his experience with the Chimera, the European resistance--the Maquis--enlist Grayson's help, and he joins Cartwright and Parker in Operation Overstrike, and so the war to retake the European continent and the game begins.

Advanced Targeting and Cover System
With easy access to a weapons inventory, reloading commands, intel and player movement options, gameplay in Resistance: Retribution is easy to pick up and generally similar to many third-person shooters on the PSP platform, but two things also make it a stand out, its advanced targeting and cover system. Unlike many other games that limit players to manual firing, Resistance: Retribution gives players the option of aim assist. Accessible quickly through the options menu, this allows players the choice of automatically locking on to the closest enemy target, to target manually or toggle between the two. Similarly, unlike other games that require you to push a button to lock you to a piece of game environment to be used as cover, here that is automatic. Just walk up to to a wall or ledge and Grayson will duck behind it automatically and will stay ducked even as he creeps from side to side. And since aim assist is constantly active you are also able to time your fire and weapon switching from the safety of cover.

Game Modes
One of the things that sets Resistance: Retribution apart from other shooters on the PSP is the variety of ways to play. Along with a compelling singleplayer campaign it also comes packed with multiplayer options that wirelessly support up to eight players in both ad hoc and infrastructure configurations. Along with familiar modes such as Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, players will also enjoy two modes called Containment and Assimilation. In addition, players who have a PS3 and a copy of Resistance 2 will also have access to two additional modes, "Infected Mode" and "Resistance Retribution Plus" via the "Resistance Connect" game feature. To access Resistance Connect, players simply load their copies of Resistance: Retribution and Resistance 2, then connect your PSP system to your PS3. Once you’re connected, Resistance: Retribution becomes "infected."

Infected Mode
Infected Mode provides an alternate story within Resistance: Retribution. While in prison for desertion, James Grayson is recruited by Specter Lieutenant David LaSalle (from Resistance 2) and is infected with a mutated version of the Chimera virus, a different version of the virus than the virus that infects Nathan Hale. While playing in Infected Mode, Grayson wears a SRPA uniform and now has glowing Chimera eyes. Grayson now has regenerative health and can breathe underwater. The HE .44 Magnum from Resistance 2, which fires explosive rounds that can be triggered remotely becomes available as a weapon. An entirely new class of intelligence also becomes available that is hidden throughout the levels. Collecting all of the "infected" intel will unlock another Resistance 2 weapon, Plasma Grenades. In addition, thanks to your new Chimera DNA you will have access to areas of the game previously unavailable, as well as experience new AI interactions with the characters you meet through out the game play.

Resistance: Retribution Plus
Resistance: Retribution Plus allows you to play the game using your PS3's DUALSHOCK 3 controller, while adding dual analog stick controls and rumble support. Simply activate this feature through Resistance 2, and then play the game on your PSP screen or through your televisions using the available video out function. This mode increases the challenge level and disables aim assist, allowing you to experience the game in an entirely new way.

It's a great game for those who like the Blokus board game. I bought this game to take with me to the hospital when I was going to be there for a few nights after a surgery. It does get a little annoying that each of the characters in the game you play against have to make some kind of comment before they each take their turn. But as long as your not in any kind of hurry while your playing this game, it's not a big deal. Before you start playing the game, check out the info about the controls so you know what buttons too push to move your pieces around to get them into the positions you want.

Over all I find this a great entertaining game that I'm very glad I bought!

Guilty Gear Judgment Review

Guilty Gear Judgment will not be the best game out there, neither the best Guilty Gear that can be found. But for a PSP game,I believe that it is a must have if you are a Guilty Gear fan.
I bought it in the marketplace and I got the game within a week and in good condition, so I am pretty satisfied with the service.

About the Game:
The Side Scrolling gameplay is kind of redundant since there is not much of a story development, only the dialogue varies a bit among characters. Nevertheless, the game comes also with a Guilty Gear X2#Reload, which is a fast paced 1v1 fighting game, which is very entertaining.

Repeating the previous statement, not the best game out there, but it should be a must if you are a Guilty Gear Fan and have a PSP.

Ultimate Block Party Review

If you like Tetris, you'll like this game. If you like Lumines, you'll like this game. There are different modes to play--single, practice attacks, against the CPU, arcade, etc. It loads fast and there isn't any lag time at all to start another game. The only thing I don't particularly care for is that the characters are more geared towards kids, IMO, unlike Lumines where the look and feel appeals more to adults (I'm 39) but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the action of the game and I love playing this game. I think it moves faster than Lumines and that's one of the things I like about it (I can spend an hour and a half playing Lumines before one game ends--I've played the arcade mode for a half hour with 2 continues--more challenging, IMO). One other "minor" complaint, navagating around the menus is a bit challenging. Most Playstation and PSP games make use of the same buttons to move from menu to menu--this game deviates from that a bit and it takes a little getting used to.

What I don't understand is why it's not readily available in stores. Best Buy only offers it online. Circuit City doesn't even have it listed. I was able to buy it at Gamestop, although not all locations carry it.

Like Tetris and Lumines, this game is highly addictive--a must have for fans of Tetris and Lumines.

I love all the Silent Hill games, since the first one came out. I was thrilled to see that they added this game to their arsenal. It is a great game, and a great plus is that you can pick up almost anything in the game to use as a weapon (i.e. IV stands, TVs, etc.). The game play is awesome, and the soundtrack is wonderfully eerie (best played with headphones). I highly recommend this game to any Silent Hill fan. It's an excellent addition to your collection.

I bought this memory stick for the psp, it works, it does its job and doesn't break. This memory stick fits in the psp and it is a much cheaper buy. You can buy the sony memory stick but it is the same thing, save some extra bucks and buy this one. 256MB is the perfect amount of space for a couple game saves and about 80 to 100 songs. Personally that is all i need. I strongly recommend this memory stick for the psp but if you are getting it for something like a camera then you should read the manual and make sure this would fit. For the psp BUY THIS MEMORY STICK! It is perfect. And you could save a few extra bucks.

I love this game. I was a big fan of Final Fantasy Tactics on the PS One and this game feels like a solid evolution of the genre. It's deep but very intuitive. In too many RPGs I find myself skimming through the story but not in this one. It's actually interesting and not full of cheesy Japanese whining. Many parts of the story use the in-game engine while other key moments use animated cut scenes which work very well.

I honestly can't think of any critiques for this game. The graphics, music, story and gameplay are all top notch. I highly recommend!

I strongly agree with past reviewers that this cradle is bright! It has a bunch of blue LED's inside its combination black and transparent plastic shell. It really can light up a room at night and it is always on when a power supply is connected to the cradle.

I worked around this annoyance by opening the cradle and cutting each of the LED's. It is a simple job to do but it's a job that shouldn't have to be done. This is a great cradle but the LED's are unnecessary.

A past reviewer disliked the lack of an RCA-out feature but I prefer the Sony proprietary connector as it allows me to connect to either composite or component inputs on a TV with a simple swap of the Sony A/V cable.

The only thing this cradle is really lacking is a remote control for the PSP. With a feature like that, and exclusion of the blue LED's, this would be the perfect cradle.

This is the best screen protector for the PSP slim. I tried the Hori,the invisible shield, both of which were rather disappointing. This one is much much better. The size is a prefect match to PSP slim screen.

I don't know why there is only a few reviews out there for this product, which made me feel like taking a big risk when I decided to give it a shot. Being the best one, it is also the most expensive one I've ever used. And I think it is worthy.

I bought the Ultra-clear version, which, just as advertised, is hardly detected. There is anything but distortion. And it does make fingerprints much less noticeable. However, it doesn't provide anti-glare effect. I think this is, again, just as advertised: it looks exactly the same with or without the protector. If you will play the PSP indoors, you can't go wrong with this one. Yet, if you plan to play outdoors very often, there is an Anti-glare version available. Go get that one.

Overall, this is an excellent screen protector for the PSP slim. And the seller is very friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend this product.

Great deal for only 20 bucks.

I cant say anything else. I mean for a 3D game, it does what it should for 20 bucks. This game is the same as all the other Scooby Doo games in 3D that have come out for the PS2, GameCube, & XBOX. The ony problem that it has is what most 3D platformers suffer from on the PSP, CAMERA problems. Its not that big of a deal that it ruins the game, but it could of been better.

Other then that its a fun little game for 20 bucks 2 keep you entertained.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable Review

Persona 3 Portable is third version and second update of Persona 3 to hit the stores. If you've bought either one or both of the previous versions and want to know if it's worth buying again, I'd say sure. Make no mistakes; the addition of a female protagonist doesn't drastically change the main storyline (any changes to it are akin to the ones made to the Journey of P3: FES), but that- along with the changes to the core game play- does make it a blast to play or replay. The downgrades made to the game to fit it on the PSP are balanced out by some nice improvements to make P3P more streamlined and polished than ever.

If you haven't played any of the previous versions of P3, you might wonder if it's really worth re-releasing it twice in less than three years. From the description, it sounds like pretty much any other RPG you might find out there. You play as a teenage orphan who moves back to the place where he or she was born only to find it in danger from a group of mysterious enemies called Shadows. Only you, along with a group of dormmates, can save the city with your special power, the power of Persona. Even with its modern setting, the plot sounds a bit cliché, and it is to a certain extent, but its overall charm and presentation make it shine.

Before you get into P3, you should know that it's definitely not a game for everyone. The evokers and personas based on all world religions make the game controversial enough to deserve its M rating even if it is on the lighter side as far as SMT games go (P3 is part of an SMT spin-off series).

It's also a dungeon crawler. The game does a nice job of breaking the game's main dungeon, Tartarus, down into several manageable parts, but it can still be a bit of a slog, even if it is much better than it was before. You still have to climb over 250 floors of this Tower of Demise throughout the course of the year and fight shadows along the way (you can see, attack, and avoid them; there are no random battles in this game). It's still a tad on the bland side design-wise, make no mistake, but the battle system was upgraded a la Persona 4, letting you take direct control of your teammates rather than just the MC. For those who actually appreciated the AI, it's still pretty decent in this version, but there are fewer tactics options to choose from, and at some point, you will have to take control of your party to make up for those losses.

Every ten or fifteen floors, you will have to fight a boss or group of mini-bosses. While you had to marathon through each little group of floors in the original P3 before you could reach a point to record your progress and teleport back to the entrance, in P3P, you can warp out of the labyrinth at any floor and resume from where you left off by checking the main gate. Your party doesn't get tired (a state where they weren't as effective in battle and would return to the dorms when you got back to the entrance in P3 and P3: FES) until you leave Tartarus either, so you can stay as long as you want now and even climb as far as you can in a given month in one go.

In addition, P3 is a Japanese RPG in every sense of the word, complete with anime-style graphics, a setting in modern-day Japan, and Japanese honorifics to hammer in the point that yes, this game takes place outside of the US. While you climb the Tartarus by night, you spend your days as a normal Japanese high school student. You have to study, make friends, and work to become braver and more charming by playing through the social sim portion of the game.

This is where P3's main draw comes into play: while the main story and goal are as linear as they are in most JRPGs, you get total freedom over what you want to do with your character for a year of their life. You can go to Tartarus whenever you want to and hang out with any of the 19 different people you can forge social links with at your leisure. While some of the characters involved in each link stay the same for both the male and female protagonist, many of them are unique to one gender, and several change in tone depending on which protagonist you choose. Just a note: the female's route has social links for all of the main characters, which develop them a bit better, and they are spread out a bit more evenly than the one's in the male's route, making them easier to max. While the female route is touted as being for "advanced players only", it seems geared for beginning players who might be a bit overwhelmed with the game system as well as P3 vets.

These social links also factor in to the RPG elements of the game. Your character is unique in that he or she can switch between multiple personas, which you get by either exploring Tartarus or fusing the ones you have together to make stronger ones. Your social links give extra experience to fused personas of the same arcana, letting them level up and learn new skills without going into battle. These new personas can also inherit skills from their "parents", and yes, it's still a bit of a pain to get the exact skills you want to carry over during fusion. Fortunately, if you get these personas to a high enough level, they drop Skill Cards that let you teach a specific skill of theirs to any persona you want. This is new to this version of P3, and believe me: it makes fusion less of a hassle than it was before.

The other changes made to the game are meant to make it fit on the PSP. Unfortunately, this means that all of the original's anime cut-scenes are now gone, and you don't get to see full sized character models outside of Tartarus. You use a cursor to move around Iwatodai, which makes getting from place to place shorter and less tedious, so it's a decent tradeoff there. Event scenes are now told visual novel-style with just character portraits, 2D backgrounds, and sound effects. It works for the most part once you get used to it, but some scenes aren't quite as effective as they were in the earlier versions. All of the original voice acting is still there, though, which is great for the most part (many of the main characters have excellent voice actors) but can be a bit... less so in others. It's still the same Persona 3 experience as before, just made to have reasonable loading times.

Speaking of things taking less time, P3P gives you the option of installing some of the game's data onto your memory stick to reduce load times. Take my advice and make the space for it, especially if you have firmware above version 6.20 installed.

Overall, Persona 3 Portable is a great game and addition the PSP's library. The updates and new female protagonist make it a worthwhile purchase for any Persona 3 veteran, as long as they don't expect a major plot overhaul, and those same changes make it more accessible to newcomers to the series than ever. If you're an RPG-lover with a PSP who doesn't mind some of the game's odd features, than you shouldn't miss this version of Persona 3.
